About SSC Recruitment :-
SSC stands for Staff Selection Commission; its main task is to make recruitment by conducting various open and departmental examinations. Its Headquarter is located at New Delhi .For smooth conduct of examinations and for convenience of the candidates across the whole country the Commission has been endowed with a Regional set-up. SSC have seven Regional Offices situated at Allahabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Guwahati, Chennai, Bangalore and two Sub-Regional Offices situated at Raipur and Chandigarh
Major task of Staff Selection Commission’s is to implement the policies & programmes of the Commission, manage & overseeing its field procedure, liaisoning & to set up links with State Governments & their Departments, making arrangements for unbiased & smooth conduct of examinations, assisting Interview Boards & facilitating the Examination Centres for conduct of exam within their area of authority .SSC recruit candidate under Group C (non-technical) & Group B (non-gazetted- both technical & non-technical) posts in departments of Government of India, its attached & subordinate offices. It also conduct departmental exam for promoting the employee from Group D to LDC Grade, from LDC to UDC Grade and from Stenographers Grade D to Stenographers Grade C besides holding Periodical Typewriting Tests in English & Hindi.
The SSC recruitment are made either by open examination, departmental examination and through selection post exams .various open examination conducted by SSC are Combined Graduate Level Examination (to fill post such as Assistants ,in CSS,AFHQ, MEA etc, Inspectors in Central Excise/Preventive Officer/Income Tax, Inspector of Posts, Sub Inspector in CBI, Div Accountants, Auditors, UDC) ,Tax Assistant Examination(to fill post such as Tax Assistant in CBDT & CBEC ) ,Combined Matric Level Examination (to fill post such as Steno Gr “C”, Steno Gr “D”,& LDC ), Statistical Investigators (SSS) Grade IV Examination (to fill post such as Statistical Investigators), Junior Engineers(Civil & Elect) Examination (to fill post such as Junior Engineers (Civil & Elect) in CPWD/Deptt of Posts, Military Engineering Service ), Junior Translators (CSOLS) Examination (to fill post such as Junior Translators of CSOLS Cadre in DOL), Deputy Field Officer (Cab Sectt) Examination (to fill post such as Deputy Field Officer(Cabinet Sectt))
Various Departmental examination conducted by SSC are Grade ‘C’ Stenographers Ltd. Depttl. Cpmpt. Examination, UD Grade Ltd. Depttl. Compt. Examination, Clerks Grade (For Group ‘D’ Staff only) Examination
The recruitment process adopted by SSC for selection posts are on the basis of percentage of marks obtained in the Essential Qualification/ a screening test/ Proficiency Test in the relevant discipline ,all followed by Skill Test/Interview .
